This course will provide participants with an understanding of how the collection of trace evidence at crime scenes; to include autopsies and vehicle processing, on a routine basis can aid in successful criminal investigations.

A comprehensive background investigation is perhaps the most important component of the hiring process because it helps agencies select only those who are the best fit for both the organization and the communities they serve. In 2019, the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards adopted an Advisory Standard to assist investigators in their efforts to obtain the necessary and relevant information on an applicant’s background, as part of the agency’s overall selection and hiring process.
