The purpose of the 16-hour Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course is to increase officer ability to observe, identify, and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both.

Additionally, it is highly recommended for those that, as a matter of agency assignment, have not operated a RADAR unit for the past year or more. If any personnel only need the LIDAR portion of the training, they can register separately for the class which is the first four hours of day 3.
