The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) presents:
Response to Active Violence Training
This class covers the mandated standards developed for Public Act 552 of 2018. The act added section 609e to the MCOLES act mandating active violence training for all licensed law enforcement officers in Michigan. This course will include classroom and practical exercises.
This class is open to all sworn personnel.
Please remember to bring your MCOLES number for recognition of the completed training on your individual employment history. A portion of the training will involve the use of force-on-force scenarios. Long sleeve shirt and gloves are required. Additional PPE equipment will be provided. Firearms will not be allowed at the scenario training location and will need to be stored outside the training location.
Public Act 522 of 2018
On March 28, 2019, Public Act 552 of 2018 (2018PA552, MCL28.609e) became effective amending Public Act 203 of 1965 (MCOLES Act). The act added section 609e to the MCOLES Act mandating active violence training for all licensed law enforcement officers in Michigan.
Section 9e specifies the following:

Cost: There is no cost for this training. Class size is limited to 20.
