This program is designed for the first line supervisor and the daily issues and problems they are confronted with. Leadership styles, communication skills, setting expectations of employee performance and many other issues will be discussed in class. The importance of “Walk A Round Management” and good listening skills are critical tools in supervision.
It is the intent of this program to discuss and evaluate different strategies to deal with the problems and challenges facing today’s supervisor. The goal is for each participant to take back ideas and strategies so as to effectively manage their employees. Participants are encouraged and challenged to “Think out of the Box!”

Topics to be discusses include; Ethics, Supervisory Duties, Leadership Traits & Styles, Documentation, Establishing Discipline , Functions and Skills of Supervisors, Several Exercises & Projects and much more.
Instructor: Joseph Johnson of JJ Training, Inc. Joe has presented police supervision and management programs, seminars and workshops nationally and internationally. He is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM).
