This course is for Local Agency Security Officers (LASO), involved in monitoring/maintaining systems that contain criminal justice information.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is for criminal justice agencies and support services to criminal justice agencies. It is not an appropriate course for Health & Human Services LASOs, K-12 Education LASOs, or LASOs of other noncriminal justice agencies.

The trainee will gain knowledge and skills needed to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) CJIS Security Policy and the Michigan Addendum and have the ability to act as their agency’s security point of contact with the Michigan State Police (MSP). They will become versed in the information technology security audit, as well as the most commonly found non-compliant areas.
