Intro to Cultural Awareness & Law Enforcement

This one day seminar will provide participants with a basic understanding of the dynamics related to various cultures that are part of American Society. It will provide law enforcement officers with an understanding of these cultural communities and their relationship with the law enforcement community. This training will provide strategies for better interaction with the public and with peers in the workplace.

Topics addressed in this seminar include;

• Dynamics of cultural community norm’s, mores & laws and their relationship to LE.
• The historical American experience for various cultural communities.
• The dynamics of cultural experience and perception on the relationship with LE.
• The impact of generational differences in cultural communities in relationships with LE.
• Police Action versus the Perception of that Action.
• Basic solutions for unification of cultural communities and LE.

Instructor:  James Friedman is the founder and president of the Cultural Awareness Group, a company that is dedicated to cultural awareness training and consulting for law enforcement, community, municipal and education professionals.  He brings insightful perspectives to the issue of cultural diversity.  He is a Reserve Police Officer, Certified Police & Fire Chaplain and Instructor.  He has a unique ability to draw on his experience and create an interactive, informative, and rewarding experience for his seminar participants.
