Testifying on an OWI case can be a daunting experience, especially if it’s your first time. This training aims to help officers prepare for court, whether it’s their first time or 20th time. Topics that will be covered in this half-day training include Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) and how to educate a jury about them, how to handle common OWI defense challenges on the stand, and the do’s and don’ts of cross examination.
Who Should Attend? All certified law enforcement officers.
Officers will need to forward on copy of their own OWI report to use during the mock trial portion of the training.
Upon registering for this class you will be required to forward an OWI police report that you have written. Please submit this report to info@leortc.com. You will use this report during the mock trial portion of the training. It is important that you send the report well in advance of the training. Attendee participation is 100% required. Please include the attendee’s email in the registration. If you are signing up another officer, please use their email and communicate to them the required submission requirements. It is important that we have direct communication with the attendees.
