The purpose of this class is to provide police officers, detectives, prosecutors, and CPS investigators with a better understanding of the dynamics involved in crimes involving sexual exploitation of children. The seminar helps students to better understand the problems & effectively investigate these cases. Sexually motivated crimes, especially those involving children are an issue that most people prefer not to think about but unfortunately are a reality in all of our communities. Through case studies & lecture, students will gain a better understanding of child sexual exploitation & learn advanced investigative strategies.
Topics to be discussed include:
Instructor: Detective James Twardesky, Warren Police Department Special Victims Investigative Unit. Detective Twardesky has conducted hundreds of investigations involving sex crimes & crimes against children. He is an adjunct Law Enforcement faculty at Macomb Community College and teaches undergraduate level criminal justice courses, online & in-person as a Macomb Criminal Justice Center Instructor having develop & taught in-service advanced police training courses.
