Course Description: | TAC for Law Enforcement Training – Course Description Furnished by M-TRAIN
6.5 hours of instruction. The Terminal Agency Coordinator Training (TAC) is designed to orient new TACs and provide current TACs with the responsibilities and requirements of the TAC assignment. The training is offered as a one-day class. Security and access, review of record entry, record validation process, training and employment requirements, and the audit process, in addition to other relevant topics, are covered in this training. Each agency that has direct access to LEIN/NCIC is required to have a Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC). Upon appointment to the position, a new TAC is required to attend a TAC Class to learn about the duties and responsibilities associated with the assignment. TACs are also required to recertify every two years by attending another TAC class. TACs are responsible to ensure record accuracy and completeness, perform monthly record validations, administer certification exams to new LEIN operators, and ensure all rules and policies for LEIN compliance are implemented and followed.
