Basic Patrol Rifle

This course is designed to train participants in the operation of the Patrol Rifle / Carbine. Safety concerns of the rifle armed officer, basic fundamental techniques, sufficient practice shooting drills, nomenclature, and marksmanship will give participants the knowledge and skills for the proper use of the patrol rifle.

Required Equipment:

  • Department Issued/Approved Body Armor & Inclement Weather Gear
  • Eye & Ear Protection
  • Department Issued/Approved Rifle
  • Rifle Cleaning Kit
  • 500 Rounds of Rifle Ammunition & 50 Rounds of Handgun Ammunition
  • Duty Weapon & Belt

Instructors: Bruce Coxworth is a retired Flint Police Rangemaster and Firearms Training Coordinator. He is a Sigarm’s qualified rangemaster and a law enforcement rifle instructor. He is currently an adjunct weapons trainer for Delta Community Collge and Oakland Community College.

Class Size:   Limited to 15

Cost:              LEORTC Member Licensed Officers – Prepaid             LEORTC Non-Licensed Personnel – $85.00 p/p

Non-Member Agencies – $170.00 p/p

Location:  Crossroads Village, 6140 Bray Flint, MI 48506.  The first day will be held in the classroom located at the Millstreet Warehouse.  Days 2 & 3 will be at the range within the Genesee County Parks system (instructor will direct the participants to the range).

This training has been registered with MCOLES for the use of PA 302 Law Enforcement Distribution funds.
