Michigan is a four season destination that brings in millions of visitors each year; including criminals from outside the area to conduct their business enterprise. Learn how your departments can work alongside each other, duplicate success in your jurisdiction and work to prevent & enforce sex trafficking crimes against persons throughout our state.
This curriculum was built with the aid of fellow LE officers and victim advocates of whom have successfully conducted numerous undercover sex trafficking sting operations, identified sex trafficking perpetrators, recovered both child and adult victims and then assist in victim services.
Upon completion of the course, law enforcement personnel will have the ability to efficiently and promptly investigate, interdict and enforce Michigan laws pertaining to sex trafficking.
COURSE OUTLINE: Define sex trafficking, identify sex buyers, sex traffickers & their victims, learn the indicators, and identify locations known to carry out Sex Trafficking specifically. Investigation Techniques, Forensic Examination of Cell Phones, Disruption Methods, Countermeasures, Legislative Updates, Victim Safety, Evidence Gathering, and Report Protocol.
Instructor: Stephanie Kreiger, Anti-Human Trafficking Engagement Specialist. Stephanie is a certified child forensic Interviewer, owner of S7 Consulting LLC. She has developed anti-human trafficking curriculum for public safety, law enforcement, healthcare, education, faith based, tribal, commerce, tourism and hospitality sectors.
