Law Enforcement on Trauma-Informed & Victim-Centered Investigations

This seminar is designed to give law enforcement professionals a practical understanding of human trafficking. Highlighting real, contextual examples, our goal is providing a framework for understanding and responding to suspected trafficking. Participants can expect to leave the training with the following outcomes:

– define human trafficking (labor and sexual exploitation)

– understand driving factors and venues for trafficking

– a framework for understanding the impact of trauma

– practical action steps for identification and intervention

Presenter:  Andy Soper, an advocate for some of the most vulnerable people in communities.  He serves as a guide and a teacher for professionals who want to be effective in their approach to traumatized people.  Andy worked with severely traumatized youth for 10 years in residential and community forums, founded a victims advocacy group called The Manasseh Project, and opened the first shelter for minor Human Trafficking victims in Michigan.
